Chapter 2
Chapter 2, Farfalla? Sei Pazzo?:
Perdente was once living in a village of human people, the village full of life. And Perdente spoke to every human, to the Baker Perdente said “Show me your dearest bread” and the Baker said “You are a Butterfly who talks”. And thus Perdente talked to the Dog, Perdente said “Show me your dearest dog bread” and the Dog said “I am a Dog who talks”. Each and every conversation it was true that Perdente was a butterfly. Perdente spoke to the Chocolate Seller, she said “I am a Butterfly who talks according the the Baker” and the Chocolate Seller said “Butterflies are ugly” Perdente jumped up swiftly after hearing those filthy words leave the mouth of the disgusting man, She bit his finger, and said “I am pretty”. And when everyone saw it they thought “I will never buy his chocolate”. And so the Chocolate seller never got a cent from that village, so he went on to the next, and found that not one person was willing to buy Chocolate from such a man, and so that man went to get a job working with wood, and there they said “You may not work here, you have no knowledge of beauty” and so he was thrown to the streets of wet mud. And so the man cried in the filth, then he felt a touch, he looked up to find it was Perdente, the man said “curse the!” Thus Perdente said “You are an unloved man, but I shall bring you the light of filth, the crying sun, take off your heart and allow someone with a joyous soul to spit in it!”.
Perdente left, The man cried on the mud, the filth. The man felt a bird who picked his skin off from his body, the man felt the bird burning him with a small match, the man felt the bird shoving an axe into his back, he thought “So this is the bird of torture” and he fell unconscious.
The man awoke the next day to find he was in a kind house, he smelled the tea of morning. The man heard a voice, it was recognized as Perdente who said “Let you live here, in the home of my father, as his apprentice”. The man was indebted to Perdente and her father, Perdente’s father taught the man how to build door knobs, which could be put in doors by those who worked with wood. The man was taught well and regained the respect of the people. One day the man asked Perdente “Who was the bird, I must ask?” and Perdente replied “The bird is my friend, they say that bird will bring people happiness in desperation”. Later the man inspected his back, and found his skin was now manipulated into the shape of a bird, the man thought “I am now marked by that very bird”.
Perdente knew that bird well, as the bird was her mother. Once Perdente’s father was misguided in his ways, as he had no children, so the bird came and tore off his flesh and manipulated his bones and organs, he used them to create the Butterflies of Blue, like Perdente, and that is why the Butterflies of Blue are humanoids, as they are from a humans very body. As the mother is the bird, it is close to Perdente deeply.
Perdente has no body of bird though.
The apprentice of Perdente’s father was named Setchaku-Zai Fond. Fond continued as the apprentice to Perdente’s father. One day Perdente’s father, known as Muto, showed Fond a special treasure of his, a diamond doorknob. Muto gave the doorknob to Fond, and gave his thousands of dollars, telling him to leave for the woods. Fond left that day, the next day Muto met with his daughter Perdente, and told her she must leave, so she too left.
Muto had to send them away to protect them, as he knew what was coming. Three days later a man came into town, the man was known as Graham. Graham walked through, the people were terrified of him. Graham’s shoes were hard metal, the dirt under his feet vibrated.
And as well Graham was a horned man, of an animalistic nature which drove his mind against Muto.
E così il destino degli sciocchi è determinato dalla loro rabbia cieca.
Determined years in the past was the feud of these two men, as Graham once abandoned Muto to his fate.
Long ago there was a group of traveling musicians, and they were led by Graham, they played songs all around. They soon recruited a man who played the Piano, though his instrument was made from horrors of the past, keys made from bone, smooth curtains of human skin, the body of that man's lost love, who died to wild beasts, the man said his only hope was to keep her corpse with him, yet hidden, in a way that it would not disturb, but it would comfort her soul with music.
That man was Muto at a younger age, and Graham took a liking to him, and so they played songs that would bring a hope to the dead, a noise of great joy breaking through a desert of despair.
And one day Muto said “I fear that my Piano can no longer sing as it once did” and Graham said “You must replace it” but Muto refused, for a few months they played distorted music, however it still touched the dead with love. However Graham did not care, but Muto could not bear to part with his Piano. Graham snuck into Muto’s carriage when he slept, and crushed the Piano under his boot.
Muto awoke to find his love lost, and he could tell Graham had done it from the mark of his boot, something one would recognize after knowing someone who walked through mud just for the show of his boots.
And of course Muto’s rage was shot like a bullet when he confronted Graham, Muto tried to hit him, but Graham was far above him in terms of strength. Graham said “Muto, now you can have a new piano! You can play beautiful music for the living for years to come” but Muto packed his things, particularly the remains of his Piano, and he left, but Graham said to him “One day, I will send you a message, you will find that I send you a letter, and I will come three days after, and kill everyone around you, and of course you as well”.
As for Graham he had a cruel heart, which could be blamed on generations of parents who only had interests in creating a superior offspring, they used themselves as breeding experiments, and every child was a means to an end.
If Graham found a piece was defective, it was to be fully eliminated, as that was the way of his family.
Muto’s care for the deceased is something Graham could never understand, his value was solely for the living, as the dead had no use for production.
And even in the past Graham was deemed to his family as not fit to have children, so he had all his reproductive organs forcefully removed, and he was thrown to the street. Where for some of his young years he survived by selling some of his body parts, which he retrieved from his weak surgical scars.
Graham’s interest in music was first established when his skin was sold to make drums, and when he listened to the drums play, he was overjoyed.
And so when Graham met a man who played instruments made from human parts he was no doubt reminded of his own past, that was what drew him to Muto.
Graham missed Muto every day, yet he also longer to murder him.
